Tuesday, April 20th, 2004I ask that everyone who is of the praying type or inclination to please pray for my wife Jenna who was involved in a brutal car accident last night at about 11pm. I just came home from the hospital for a shower and then we’re going back.
A brief list of the damage includes broken neck (non-displaced aka no spinal damage), cracked head with attendant internal brain injuries (two hematomas– they are monitoring the pressure in there), two collapsed lungs, lacerated spleen, lacerated liver, ruptured bladder, and pelvis broken in two places.
The biggest issue right now is how long she wasnt breathing at the scene and whether the physical brain injury (SUV (’yota four runner) T-boned the car Jenna was riding in as passenger, on the passenger side) will cause permanent damage or the extent thereof. I just saw the car (’95 Saturn) trying to find the house keys and it is amazing that she wasn’t killed instantly. The entire passenger side is collapsed leaving about 3″ between the door panel and the center console, which itself is pushed over a good 6″…
Anyways, i am not a praying type but i’ve been doing it continuously since i got the phone call last night. Please pray for her, send positive vibes, etc,… everything helps. Thanks to you all, this community is part of our lives and … we can both use the support right now.
