About this Website

On April 19, 2004, my wife Jenna was riding in the front passenger seat of her friend Kimberly Wippert’s car, when Kim erroneously pulled left directly into the path of an oncoming 4×4 pickup truck.

The 4,000lb truck slammed into Jenna’s side of the car at a reported 65mph, totally collapsing it (click here for pictures), and causing massive injuries to Jenna. She was airlifted to UAB Hospital’s trauma center and spent the next two months in the hospital, eventually being sent home from UAB’s own world-renown Spain Rehab Center on June 25th, 2004.

My name is Robert, and this website is our way of holding out hope and faith to the world. There are many people who have heard her story, and that is a good thing.

They never gave us much hope for any type of recovery: her injuries (especially her brain injuries) were just too extensive, too brutal.

But from the first moment I saw her there lying on the gurney in the emergency room, I have believed in nothing less than a total, miraculous recovery. It has been over a year now, and although Jenna isn’t “all the way” back, she is well on her way.

The Webified story begins with a post on the bmw2002faq.com website, the day after the accident. Eventually I moved the day-by-day and play-by-play to the Livejournal.com blogging site, and finally set up this stand-alone website along with its own Guestbook/Message board system. For a time I used this forum software, but have recently finished integrating all previous posts into this Wordpress site.  The forums can still be accessed here: in the “One Year Later” message thread in the “Jenna Progress Updates / Robert’s Blog” forum.

A big HUGE thank you to all who have followed Jenna’s story and sent your prayers, kind thoughts, and financial support to Jenna. May God bless each and every one of you and your families.
