Just got back from another visit with Jenna in Carbondale…

and probably going back tomorrow to pick her up for Christmas!

It was a good, low key visit although we both got violenltly ill on  Thursday night, the reasons for which are unknown.  Seemed to come on extremely quickly and leave almost as fast, perhaps a 24-hour flu?

Ive got a new (used) car (an 18-year-old BMW to replace the 39-year-old one), and put ice/snow tires on it for safety’s sake in crappy midwestern weather.  It was very icy on the drive down to see her, and it is shaping up to be just as icy or worse for the drive to pick her up for Christmas.  So I am thinking of going tomorrow to get her, and then bring her back on Friday.  (She can only be away from the hospital for five days at a time due to medicaid rules.)  I am not so worried about my own car (they are nice, albeit inexpensive tires) but the inevitable wrecks and delays caused by others–the drive down took an extra hour due to the freeway being closed because of a wreck.

Jenna herself seems to be doing well.  Her temper seems well controlled although she still has the occasional outburst.  Right now the biggest issue is the “time of the month.”  They are going to try another type of medication to try to eliminate that problem, so I am hopeful.
